Second Tuesdays with Dorie post, Chocolate Truffle Tartlets. Have to admit I was a little nervous about this one – had visions of scrambling eggs in hot, melted chocolate! Not to mention I had decided to make this for pudding the weekend my folks were due to meet my fiancé’s folks for the first time… They live in different towns so it’s taken a while to happen, but with our wedding less than 6 months away it couldn’t wait any longer!
I didn’t have small tartlet pans and so I used a large one, and everything went perfectly until I forgot that I would need to bake it a little longer to make up for the larger pan. This resulted in the centre still being runny and not setting properly. But, it still tasted like heavenly brownie deliciousness:-)
And the next day, after a night in the fridge, it had set and was scrumptious! We nibbled on it for the rest of the weekend:)

PS Our folks seemed to get along just fine & it was a great weekend!

How nice that you had an occasion for which to make this tart. I was wishing that I had plans to invite more than one person for dinner last night.
Hehe…all that means is that you have more left overs, more tart for you to enjoy later! 😉

Wow, chocolatey! Looks yummy though. It seems many had issues with the center setting, not sure why though.

Ditto on the thoughts of scrambling eggs in chocolate. I could totally see it happening in my mind. But how nice that you got to share it with all the parents. When my mom met my husband’s parents for the first time I decided to have everyone over to our apartment for brunch, and I just remember trying to focus on the food I was making instead of the impending meeting itself! I think I needed a serious distraction…
It looks delicious, all over the plate or not! Mine was a bit gooey and soft after cooling for just a few minutes, but like you said, it really set up after a bit more time.
I was also worried about the eggs…scrambling or else not cooking long enough in the oven. I cooked mine longer and ended up with more like a brownie…yours looks much more chocolately! 🙂

Your gooey tart makes me long for more of the tart myself! 🙂 how great your parents all got along! I was nervous when my ‘rents and in-laws first met but they got along great!!
